Scotty & Jess’s wedding day in Sedona was the kind of celebration that feels both intimate and cinematic. Set against the timeless charm of Tlaquepaque Arts & Shopping Village, their day unfolded with flowing creekside moments, golden desert light, and a candlelit ceremony beneath vine-covered archways.
As a Sedona wedding photographer, these are the weddings I absolutely love — thoughtful timelines, stunning architecture, and a couple who truly soaks in every second.
First Look at the Creek at Los Abrigados Resort and Spa
Scotty & Jess chose to begin their day with a private first look along the peaceful creek at Los Abrigados Resort and Spa. Nestled just steps away from Tlaquepaque, the shaded pathways and flowing water created the perfect quiet space before the celebration began.
When Scotty turned and saw Jess for the first time, the nerves melted away. The calm reflection of the trees in the water and the soft Sedona breeze made it feel like time stood still. First looks are always powerful, but this one felt especially intimate — just the two of them, tucked away from the world.
Portraits Around Tlaquepaque’s Spanish-Style Courtyards
After their first look, we wandered back over to Tlaquepaque Arts & Shopping Village for portraits. If you’ve never explored this iconic Sedona wedding venue, it’s a dream backdrop for photography.
From ivy-draped stucco walls to wrought-iron gates and cobblestone paths, every corner offers texture and romance. Scotty & Jess moved effortlessly through the courtyards, laughing together as golden hour light filtered through the sycamore trees.
The warm tones of the architecture paired beautifully with Sedona’s natural red rock glow. It was the perfect mix of European charm and Arizona desert energy — a signature Tlaquepaque vibe.
A Candlelight Ceremony Under the Vine Archways
As the sun dipped below the red rocks, guests gathered beneath Tlaquepaque’s iconic vine-covered archways. Instead of a traditional daytime ceremony, Scotty & Jess chose something unforgettable — an after-sunset ceremony illuminated by candlelight.
The flicker of candles lining the courtyard created the most romantic atmosphere. Soft shadows danced across the walls as Jess walked down the aisle. The intimate glow made every moment feel sacred and deeply personal.
There’s something magical about a nighttime ceremony in Sedona. Without the distraction of bright daylight, all attention shifts to emotion — the vows, the tears, the laughter, and the way Scotty looked at Jess as they promised forever.
Why Tlaquepaque Is Perfect for a Sedona Wedding
Tlaquepaque Arts & Shopping Village remains one of my favorite Sedona wedding venues for so many reasons:

Vine-covered archways and romantic courtyards
Walkable access to nearby creekside locations like Los Abrigados Resort and Spa
Incredible atmosphere for both daytime and nighttime ceremonies
A built-in intimate, European feel right in the heart of Arizona

Scotty & Jess — A Day to Remember
Scotty & Jess designed a day that reflected who they are — relaxed, deeply connected, and focused on experience over extravagance. From their quiet creekside first look to their glowing candlelight vows, every moment was intentional.
Sedona has a way of wrapping couples in its magic, and this day was no exception.
